Help On How To Apply To Medical School
To apply to medical school, you need to fill up the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) application form. There’s only one application form, you need to fill. |
Nearly all medical schools take part in the national application system organized by the AMCAS, you will have to find out all the schools for which you would like to apply for and confirm one.
Next, you need to either get the document or electronic (AMCAS-E) application form. Then fill out the all the application papers with all your complete details such as your personal background, activities and interests, grades, and personal statement.
After completing all the required fields in the application form, you need to send or mail to the AMCAS in the month of June or July. AMCAS starts taking forms from June 1, but as the medical schools follow first-come, first-served, it is highly recommended that you send the application forms as soon as possible.
Sometimes after sending your primary application forms you may have to send secondary application forms as well. After accepting your primary application forms, medical schools may or may not send you a secondary form depending upon their rules and regulations. Whereas, the AMCAS-centralized primary and secondary forms are particular school-wise and fluctuate from school to school.
As per the medical school demands, you may have to fill out letters of reference. In that case you may have to present information that draws attention to diverse aspects of yourself. Usually, schools inquire letters from one non-science and two from science professors. Don’t over-burden admissions committee with several unnecessary recommendations.
