AIDS stands for Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome. It is caused by the HIV virus, or the Human Immuno Deficiency Virus, that acts to destroy the human body’s immune system by killing its cells. When the immune system’s cell count falls drastically to a very critical level, it leads to AIDS, which is life threatening.

Critical care patients need to be well taken care of, especially when they are being transported from one place to another, or are on their way to the hospital. There are special emergency medical personnel whose job is to care for such patients when on the move. They are called paramedics.
