Other types of food that contain mediocre content of purines include bacon, turkey, trout, goose, pheasant, veal, mutton, haddock and salmon. Apart from avoiding foods that are recognized as causal agents of gout, it is also beneficial to include those foods in one’s diet that are known to reduce gout attacks and improvise one’s health. Such food items include fruits such as cherries, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, pineapple and bananas; vegetables such as green leafy vegetables, celery, tomatoes, cabbage and parsley; foods rich in vitamin C; diary products with low fat levels; drinks such as fruit juices, coffee, tea, and carbonated beverages; and high intake of water.
