Biomedical Engineering Current Events

Biomedical engineering is the latest science that makes use of the modern technology and the basic biology and medicine to enhance the therapeutics and its aids effective. It is the field of basic science and technology which joins together and provides excellent solutions for critical diseases like cardiovascular disease.

The current events that are going on in biomedical engineering are the development of various artificial organs right from the head to feet, implantable automated monitors which will help to detect the changes in the patient like blood pressure, temperature, etc. It is very much helpful to develop the various advanced devices that are used in the surgery.

The application of the biomedical engineering includes the development of sensors that could detect the levels of various ions like hydrogen, potassium, sodium, etc and it also helps to monitor the levels of gases like oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc in the circulatory system.

This field also helps to real time monitoring of physiological system, designing of biomaterials and various imaging system which uses ultrasound, radiation and magnetic field. The development of drug delivery system for effective treatment of cardio vascular disease and tissue replacement therapies for bone defect using stem cells are considered to be the major events that are happening in the field of biomedical engineering.

It is very much useful to study the response of cells to their environment and the signaling pathways involved which gives valuable information on the metabolism and systemic processes of the human being. It is also useful in diagnosis and treatment of deadly disease like cancer.
